STR-8 Jacket was born out of real travel fatigue.
Our founder flies constantly. Like most travelers, especially in coach, he found there was nowhere to rest his arms comfortably during a flight. The more we talked about it, the more we kept coming back to the same thing. The shoulder tension and the upper-body ache after hours of sitting are not really about your neck. They are about your arms having nowhere to go.
That conversation sparked a simple but powerful question:
What if a jacket could provide a comfortable place for your arms to rest while seated -without sacrificing mobility, breathability, or everyday wearability?
From there, STR-8 Jacket began.
We went through five to six prototypes before arriving at the product available today. Along the way, we learned quickly that traditional cotton hoodies were too warm for travel and long flights. We also discovered that an upper pocket alone placed too much pressure on the neck and shoulders when supporting arm weight.
The breakthrough came with the introduction of a flexible internal support membrane sewn into the upper portion of the jacket. This design helps distribute the weight of your arms more evenly across the upper body, creating a more natural and comfortable resting position while seated.
